Ki Nurmenniemi (they/them) is a contemporary art curator, art writer, and doctoral researcher in interdisciplinary sustainability sciences. They have been working in Finland and internationally since 2010, curating transdisciplinary projects around contemporary art and its relations to ecological and social (un)sustainability. Their curatorial practice has been embedded in artist residencies, micro art organisations, and multidisciplinary collectives. From 2012 through 2018, Ki worked as a curator with HIAP – Helsinki International Artist Programme. One of their responsibilities there was to lead the 5-year EU project Frontiers in Retreat – Multidisciplinary Approaches to Ecology in Contemporary Art. Ki has curated exhibitions, performative events, and public programs in Finland (i.e. Fiskars Village Art and Design Biennale 2019), The United States (Deep Time Séance 2015), South Korea (Fictional Frictions as part of the Gwangju Biennale 2018, Edge Effects at ASJC, 2017) as well as online (Care Practice, co-curated with Ceci Moss from Gas Gallery, LA, 2020). In 2020, Ki co-founded, together with Creative Climate Leader Anna-Kaisa Koski, the research and art commissioning platform Punos Arts & Research. 

Ki Nurmenniemi on kuraattori, taidekirjoittaja ja väitöskirjatutkija Helsingin yliopiston ympäristöalan tieteidenvälisessä tohtoriohjelmassa. Vuodesta 2010 eteenpäin hän on kuratoinut nykytaiteen projekteja sekä Suomessa että kansainvälisesti. Kin kuratoriaalinen praktiikkaa nähdään taiteilijaresidensseissä, mikrotaideorganisaatioissa ja monitieteellisissä kollektiiveissa. Ki toimi vuosina 2012–2018 HIAPin kuraattorina, jonka puitteissa hän johti viisivuotista Frontiers in Retreat – Multidisciplinary Approaches to Ecology in Contemporary Art -EU-projektia. Ki on kuratoinut näyttelyitä, performatiivisia tapahtumia ja yleisötilaisuuksia Suomessa, Yhdysvalloissa ja Etelä-Koreassa. Vuonna 2020 Ki ja Anna-Kaisa Koski perustivat taide- ja tutkimusalusta Punoksen.
